The organising committee for the 7th International Symposium on River Science are now calling for proposals for special sessions. Special sessions organise a group of talks around topics of significance. Proposals are encouraged to address the ISRS 2025 meeting themes if appropriate, but doing so is not necessary:
- Reconnecting: rivers as integrated biophysical systems
- Restoring: river management for biodiversity outcomes
- Revitalising: relationships between people and rivers
Proposals that combine talks with a discussion panel will be considered.
ISRS 2025 also welcomes sponsored special sessions where organisations or groups propose and lead a session on current topics and are named as a sponsor of the conference.
To propose a special session please send a brief (1-2) page proposal with the following information:
- name(s), email address(es) and institution(s) of proposer(s), who will become session leaders;
- the title of the proposed special session;
- a short synopsis of the topic, the significance of the topic to river science and alignment with the conference themes (max 300 words);
- the proposed number of talks in the session with proposed/confirmed speakers and draft talk titles.
Conference sessions will be 1.5 hours, with space for six 15-minute talk slots. The minimum number of talks for a standard special session is four; and - sponsorship potential for the special session.
Please submit all special session proposals by 21st February 2025
