2013, Beijing, China

The 3rd Biennial Symposium of the International Society for River Science was hosted by Beijing Normal University, Beijing (China), from 5 to 9 august 2013.

The conference theme was “Achieving healthy and viable rivers”. Faced with the degradation of riverine ecosystems across the globe, this conference focuses on the achievement of healthy and viable rivers with an objective of consolidating knowledge on riverine ecosystem response to the impacts of natural and human pressures, and promoting multi-disciplinary solutions for protecting or restoring the ecosystems. All the researchers, managers, and students in related fields, such as hydrology, water quality and aquatic ecology, are invited to share in the search for more effective and science-based solutions to maintain our important riverine ecosystems.
